INFORMATION OF THE NORTHEASTERN TOURS
EC05 “VERANO” El Kuch, Yaxhá, Nakúm, Poza Maya and Topoxte (3 days/ 2 nights)
The tour begins in the morning with the shuttle from Flores or Melchor de Mencos to the Yaxha lagoon. After room assignment, long walk to the archeological site of El Kuch enjoying the beauty of the flora and fauna around the lodge. Lunch and a little nap before going to Yaxha archeological site. In the afternoon visit to the site of Yaxha. The visit will end in temple 216 to see the sunset. Back to the lodge for dinner and lodging.
The second day, after breakfast, shuttle by four wheel drive to the sites of Poza Maya, inside La Justa swamp, and Nakum.
Mammals and exotic birds may bee seen during the tour.
In the afternoon, back to the lodge, dinner and lodging in bungalows by the shores of the lake.
The third day, after breakfast, transfer by boat to the island of Topoxte and visit the site. In the lagoon you will have the opportunity to view birds, crocodiles, turtles and migratory birds such as wood storks, Jabiru storks and Roseate spoonbills. Back to the Ecolodge lunch and transfer to Santa Elena or Melchor de Mencos.
EC06 “SEÑORIO” Topoxté, Ixtinto, Nakum, Poza Maya and Yaxhá (3 days/ 2 nights)
The tour begins in he morning with the shuttle from Santa Elena or Melchor de Mencos to the Yaxha lagoon. After room assignments visit to the island of Topoxte and visit the site.
We will continue by boat in the Ixtinto River and by horse to the archeological site which bears the same name. Back to the Ecolodge for dinner and lodging.
The second day, after breakfast, shuttle by jeep to the archeological sites of Nakum and Poza Maya, the visit will take the whole day. Back to the Ecolodge for dinner and lodging.
The third day, visit to the archeological site of Yaxha. Back to the lodge for lunch and then shuttle to Santa Elena or Melchor de Mencos.
NE01 “IXCANRIO” Río Azul and Kinal (3 days/ 2 nights)
Shuttle from Santa Elena or Melchor de Mencos by four-wheel drive vehicle to the site of Rio Azul in the Ixcanrío camp. During the trip we will cross the Tikal National Park, the Dos Lagunas National Park and by the Rio Azul/Kinal National Park, all within the Mayan Biosphere reserve. The estimated time for this trip is about 6 hours. In the afternoon, installation of our camping with hammocks and mosquito nets. Dinner and sleeping in the jungle.
The next day, after breakfast, visit the Rio Azul archeological. Back for lunch to Ixcanrío camp. In the afternoon the visit of Kinal archeological site. Back to the camp, dinner and a deserved nap in the hammocks.
The third day, after breakfast, back to Santa Elena or Melchor de Mencos. During the way back, if it is possible, we can visit the site of Uaxactun, if we go to Santa Elena, or other site if we go on the Melchor rout.
