CENTRAL EAST TOUR DESCRIPTION
EC01 “GUAYACAN” Topoxté, Yaxhá, El Kuch and Holtun (2 days 1 night)
The tour begins in the morning from the central area of Flores or Melchor De Mencos to El Sombrero Ecolodge in the shores of the Yaxha lagoon. Room assignment. Fast boat to the archeological site of Topoxte, visit the island. Lunch in El Sombrero restaurant. In the afternoon, visit to the archeological site of Yaxha, finishing the hike in 216 temple to enjoy a panoramic view and the sunset. Back to El Sombrero for dinner in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
The second day, after breakfast hike for about one hour to observe the flora and fauna of the archeological site of El Kuch. Visit to the site of Holtun, in the village of La Maquina, were hideous masks in one of the pyramids can be seen. Lunch is served in a restaurant of an ecotourism group of the village. Transfer to Santa Elena or Melchor de Mencos.
EC02 “EL RAMONAL” Topoxté, Yaxhá and Ixtinto (3 days and 2 nights)
The first day is the same as the ECO1
The second day, after breakfast, fast boat to Ixtinto River, where we ride on horseback up to Ixtinto archeological site, lunch will be taken in the rout. After the visit to the site, then we will continue up to reach Champoxte lagoon. There we will camp and have dinner.
The third day after breakfast, return by horseback, lunch in El Sombrero and transfer to Santa Elena or Melchor de Mencos.
EC03 “POPOL VUH” Topoxté, Yaxhá and Nakum (3 days and 2 nights)
The first day is the same as the ECO 1.
The next day after breakfast, horseback riding to Nakum, going across “La Justa” with an approximately duration of 4 hours. After a deserved break visit to the ruins.
Dinner and sleep in hammocks with mosquito nets. You will be fascinated with the nocturnal jungle sounds
The third day, after breakfast, back by horseback to El Sombrero. Lunch in El Sombrero and transfer to Santa Elena or Melchor de Mencos.
EC04 “SACBE” Topoxté, Yaxhá, Nakum and Tikal (3 days and 2 nights)
Day 1 and 2 the same as Eco3.
The third day we continue by horse in a path which connects the archeological site of Nakum with Tikal. Between the Mayan jungle and the Holmul riverbanks you will be able to enjoy the flora and fauna of Peten. Lunch in the rout. We estimate getting into Tikal’s visitor center by 4 p.m.
The expenses in Tikal are the guest’s own expense.
Transport to get to the airport is included.
